When it comes to fashion, many of us think of runway models and outlandish, futuristic, and otherwise bizarre looks that we can’t exactly see ourselves sporting out and about. Most of us are content to keep on rocking our own down to earth look. However, that doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy fashion. Fashion is not just those runway time travelers. In fact, fashion is more of a school of thought that affects all of us, and therefore, you, too, can embrace the rules of fashion without dressing to the nines. Normal clothing can be fashionable, too. If you need proof, look no further than the normcore fashion movement in which normal clothing items and fashion principles collide in a kind of bizarre version of everyday looks. Here are some ways you, too, can take your look to the next level without dressing like an astronaut.
For starter, consider the underrated power of simple color coordination. For example, most of us where tee shirts and blue jeans, but we often stick to black or white shirts. Why not use yellow, the complement of blue on the color wheel, to make an outfit pop? Or, you could try pairing more similar colors. For instance, again, using blue jeans as a starting point, you could wear another cool color, like purple or green or simply another shade of blue, or you could use one of my personal favorites, the blue green color, teal. Simply considering the colors of the clothing you choose to wear will do wonders for your look.
Don’t be afraid to spend some money in order to revamp your wardrobe. While you’re trying not to go too far down the fashion rabbit hole, that’s no reason not to have higher quality versions of the clothes you already like to wear, so why not invest in some new threads from a classier retailer like Brooks Brothers to bring your fashion game to the next level?
